I was so looking forward to chrome. what a let down. lacks some basic features. i did'nt even see a place to add a proxy server. I can understand some bugs, but not 6 DoS vulnerabilties, latest being remote. and a remote stack based over flow. nasty. if this browser would have received the downloads firefox 3 got in its first 24 hours, some kiddie would have had a very large shiney new botnet.

I remember what it was like to "surf" the internet with a text only browser. I was ticked when Windows 95 restricted the ability of the average shade-tree technologist to monkey with startup files. And I'd sooner use a keystroke combination than touch a mouse. Yes, I still code web pages in Notepad, and no, I don't care what you think about that.

But I like Chrome. A lot, in fact. I suspect that when the Beta crashes the first time for me I'll yell, but right now it's streamlined efficiency has me sold.

I have over 100 "Favorites" stored in IE, but Chrome puts my top dogs RIGHT THERE on the main screen, two clicks from anywhere. It's a lazy man's version of your NetVibes! And for some reason, I'm trusting Google to reduce the hassle in ways I never really trusted Microsoft to...

Thanks for the blog, and keep the updates coming!

should be interesting to see if Chrome works more efficiently than FireFox and IE... if it's faster than Firefox, since isn't IE, then i'll use it

"We are so, so happy with Google Chrome," mumbled Mozilla CEO John Lilly through gritted teeth. "That most of our income is from Google has no bearing on this statement." - http://notnews.today.com/?p=57

Hmm. Interesting. That would be bad, and I hadn't thought to test a Flash site until you mentioned it.

However, I just tried a handful of Flash sites and while they seemed to load slower... they didn't crash the browser.

But I'm sure there are a host of bugs to work out... that's why it's a beta. Thanks for letting us know about your experiences.

I've gotten Chrome to completely crash just by interacting with Flash:

The browser may be buggier and less stable than they were implying.
