Facebooks & LinkedIns & Twitter, Oh My
So you recently set up a Twitter account to allow the world to see what you are up to, 140 characters at a time. Your college friends talked you into putting together a Facebook Profile so they can tag you in old and embarrassing pictures, and your annoying brother-in-law keeps mentioning the importance of an up-to-date LinkedIn profile.
Connecting to your friends, potential customers and family, IS important, but you don’t have the time update all of these profiles… We at Keystone feel the same way; however we have also seen the bottom line business benefits from having an active profile with these social networking tools.
Recently, our friend Dan Ryan at Linking Tennessee introduced us to a web utility that allows you to update all of your profiles at once, without logging into each of your social networking sites. You simply set up an account with Ping.Fm and through an easy to use screen on Ping’s site, you activate your social networking profiles. (Ping.Fm claims that they support over 30 sites.) When you want to update all of your sites, you go to Ping.fm, and enter your ‘status update’ there, and it automatically updates them all.
Just think, now you can tell all of your friends about the fish tacos you just ate, and it will update all of your profiles simultaneously! Oh, and did I mention you can do all of this from your Blackberry, iPhone or other handheld ‘smart device’? Happy Ping.Fm-ing!

Dell Hosts Nashville Recycling Event
On Saturday, May 2, 2009, from 10am-4pm, Dell will once again host a city-wide computer recycling event on their Nashvile Campus near the airport. Users are encouraged to drop off computers of any make and model, printers, monitors, ink & toner cartridges, scanners, keyboards, mice, and laptops.
They’ll even accept your video game consoles and mobile entertainment devices.
The first 1,200 participants will be given a free tree sapling ready for planting, as well as a discount on the purchase of a new Dell computer product. Last year’s event was pretty huge, so I recommend getting their early–especially if you’re after one of those saplings.
All year long we get questions from clients about when and where they might be able to recycle old comptuer equipment. Now is your chance! Gather up all your unused gear and head on down to Dell on Saturday, May 2.
If you’re not sure where they’re located… use the map below:

Helping Clients Through Tough Times
Looks like we’re famous…or at least we’re in the newspaper. The Hendersonville Star News did a business section feature on Keystone and our success helping businesses improve their technology during a down economy.
You can read the story on The Tennessean website if they don’t throw the hard copy in your driveway.

Meet Anna

If you’ve called Keystone (615-826-3500) in the last few days, you’ve already met our new automated attendant. No, Mike hasn’t changed his name to Anna; his voice is the first one you hear. After that, you’ll be introduced to Anna.
Anna is the voice of Microsoft Response Point. Says Microsoft’s website:
Microsoft Response Point advanced phone system, provides small businesses with up to 50 employees a competitive advantage against bigger rivals, by improving customer contact. Users no longer need complicated textbooks to use advanced call features because Microsoft’s award winning voice recognition software makes it easy to access and use with just one button.
Getting connected to the Keystone specialist you need has never been easier. The voice-activation system works anytime during your call. If you want to talk to Adam (and really, who wouldn’t want to?) call and just say “Adam” as soon as the auto-attendant picks up. Want to talk to Eric? Call and ask for Eric… or “Mad Dog,” one of his many Mexican prison aliases, and you’ll get him. Don’t know who you want to talk to or you just don’t like robot-like women named Anna? Press zero (0) and you’ll get to talk to whomever grabs the phone first.
We recognize that an auto-attendant carries some historical baggage with it. Customers have been trained to be wary of them, mostly due to years of clunky interfaces and overly complicated structures. But the Response Point voice-activation system actually means you get to the person you need faster, without having to explain your problem twice before finally getting the help you need. We’d love to hear feedback from you about our new system. So email me, Eric: ejackson@kbsweb.com. Or just call and ask for Mad Dog and talk to me directly.
